Brandon Lin

I’m Brandon Lin, a third-year Computer Science major. I began my academic and professional journey at Georgia State University – Perimeter College, where I served as a Software Engineering Intern for NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement. During my internship, I worked with SeaDAS, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks to analyze ocean color. My contributions helped develop analytical tools for interpreting satellite imagery to advance research in ocean biology and climate studies.

After that incredible experience, I kept asking myself, “What’s next for me? How can I continue growing and experience more with NASA?” That question led me to the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) program, where I learned about NASA’s mission structure, collaborated with peers in a simulated $15 million mission budget, and co-created a research poster that deepened my understanding of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate.

Building upon those experiences, I became a NASA L’SPACE Lucy Mission Ambassador, representing NASA’s Lucy Mission and helping inspire students to explore opportunities within planetary science and aerospace. Through outreach and mentorship, I aim to connect my passion for space exploration, encouraging others to see how interdisciplinary collaboration drives innovation at NASA. As part of this initiative, I also continued my involvement in the L’SPACE Mission Concept Academy, developing mission proposals and systems engineering concepts focused on Mars exploration.
