
Mateo Rodriguez
Mateo is a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Rochester, pursuing a minor in Computer Science. He currently lives in New York and serves as the President of the University’s Rocketry Club, where he leads teams focused on propulsion, structures, and avionics design. He also works as a Research Assistant in the High-Intensity Femtosecond Laser Laboratory, where he uses ANSYS CFD and OpenFOAM to model and analyze fluid systems for thermal optimization and experimental validation.
Through his experiences with the L’SPACE Program, Mateo has strengthened his leadership and technical skills by managing a team that develops innovative solutions for real-world space challenges. He is passionate about aerospace systems, hands-on design, and using engineering to push the boundaries of exploration.
In the future, Mateo hopes to contribute to developing technologies that make space exploration more efficient and accessible for everyone.
