APPLICATIONS
The L'SPACE Program offers two unique, hands-on learning experiences for students: The Mission Concept Academy (MCA) and the NASA Proposal Writing & Evaluation Experience Academy (NPWEE).
Students may choose one Academy to apply for each semester.
Current L'SPACE students and Alumni are encouraged to apply for a Lucy Summer Internship and/ or the Lucy Ambassador Program.

MISSION CONCEPT ACADEMY
Receive mission development skills training each week from NASA scientists and engineers and collaborate with other students to design a mission-related team project.
Dates: Tuesdays, 1/16/2024 - 4/16/2024
Times: 4:00 - 6:00 PM PT (7:00 - 9:00 ET)
Duration: 15 weeks, 1.5 hours/week online sessions, plus homework and team projects, and a final team presentation.

NASA PROPOSAL WRITING & EVALUATION EXPERIENCE
Learn to effectively write a concept proposal that turns innovative ideas into reality. Gain experience in the process of writing, reviewing, and scoring proposals through the lens of a NASA reviewer. Compete for a $10,000 prize to continue developing your team's idea.
Dates: Thursdays, 1/18/2023 - 4/18/2024
Times: 4:30 - 6:00 PM PT (7:30 - 9:00 ET)
Duration: 12 weeks, 1.5 hours/week online sessions, plus homework and team projects.

Lucy Mission Internships
Each summer, the Lucy Mission offers L'SPACE Alumni students 10-week internships at the following locations:

NASA Goddard Space Flight Center- Greenbelt, MD

KinetX Aerospace, Inc - Simi Valley, CA

Southwest Research Institute- Boulder, CO

Lockheed Martin Space- Denver, CO

Arizona State University- Tempe, AZ. (5-weeks)

Lucy Ambassador Program
Lucy Ambassadors are trained to teach the public about the Lucy Mission, as well as other NASA missions to small bodies. Ambassadors are taught best practices of science communication and public outreach and are provided with the resources needed to give excellent public presentations.
Requirements:
-
Complete at least one semester of the L'SPACE Program.
-
Commit to one year as a Lucy Ambassador and carry out 3 outreach events during the year.
