Annalise Igyarto is a molecular biology lab technician at MIRA Genetix. She holds a bachelor's in biology from Penn State and in astronomical and planetary sciences from Arizona State University. Between her degrees, she completed a NASA internship where she helped to develop a biosensor to monitor crew health.

Her time spent as the Chief Scientist for her L'SPACE Mission Concept Academy (MCA) team motivated her to become a LEAP intern, where she could mentor other students through the academy. MCA helped her improve her teamwork and leadership skills while gaining an in-depth knowledge of science mission planning and a greater appreciation for engineering and programatics. She is thrilled to be continuing her journey with L'SPACE and sharing what she learned with others.

Her combined passions for space and biology have led her to pursue a career in astrobiology, and she will be starting a master's program focused on the subject in the Fall. However, when she's not in the lab or doing literature review for various research projects, she enjoys writing, drawing, and baking. She spends whatever time she can with her dog, whom she taught to speak using buttons.
