Ava Martinez is a third year Mechanical Engineering transfer student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She previously attended Cuesta College, where she graduated with an AS in Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics, was the president of the STEM Club, and contributed to astronomy research studying binary star systems. Ava participated in the L'SPACE MCA in Summer 2025 serving as the Lead Systems Engineer, and also participated in NCAS missions 1-3.

Ava is a tutor at Cuesta College, where she tutors physics and engineering courses. She is also a member of the Cal Poly Cubesat Laboratory, as an Assembly, Integration, and Test engineer. She began her LEAP internship in Fall 2025, serving two semesters as a Mechanical Engineering Mentor, and is now an NX Mentor. In her free time, Ava enjoys playing classical piano and learning new instruments.
